We’re Lainey and Jacob Buffington, and we believe in living with purpose and a sense of adventure. Married since 2022, we’ve spent our days creating a life we love on Clark’s Bridge, and this blog is our way of sharing that journey with you. Our life is a blend of business, family, faith, and a whole lot of fun—and we’re thrilled to have you join us here.
Our story began with a bit of divine timing. Although we first met back in seventh grade, it took years of crossed paths—a wedding, high school, the same golf team, even a mission trip—before we finally realized we were meant to be together. Now, we’re living our dream in a 1947 house passed down through Jacob’s family, a space filled with history, modern renovations, and all the love we’re pouring into it.

Lainey is a driven entrepreneur, grant writer, and gluten-free recipe creator, dedicated to connecting people and projects that matter. As the Vice President of Proposals and Grant Writing for a government contracting association, she empowers nonprofits and businesses alike to make an impact through well-crafted grants and contracts. When she’s not busy with work, you’ll find her experimenting in the kitchen, reading, or enjoying coffee shop outings. Lainey’s faith is a guiding light in all she does, and she’s on a journey to read the Bible cover-to-cover as she deepens her spiritual walk.

Jacob, a realtor and home rehab expert, finds peace in the outdoors. Whether it’s hunting, fishing, or helping clients discover their dream homes, he approaches life with an appreciation for nature and tradition. As a property flipper, he loves transforming spaces to bring out their true potential, especially for first-time homebuyers. His love for the outdoors takes him from the lake to the woods, and his faith is rooted in a connection to the land and a deep respect for God’s creation.
Together, we balance each other’s dreams and support each other’s goals. We’re united in our faith, love for travel, and a passion for sharing life’s best moments with others. And through this blog, we want to bring you along for all of it—whether that’s delicious recipes, home project inspiration, tips on landing grants, or insights from our travels.
